Stories from the Womb

Welcome to Stories from the Womb

Stories from the womb

Stories from the Womb is a space for us to listen in to that deep part of our bodies and hear what she has to say, what stories she needs to tell and how to heal the wounds we have from carrying these stories for so long.

Stories from the Womb has been created by a group of women who are passionate about breaking the silence we hold our wombs in. Our personal stories of love, loss and power are tied up in this space.

Our aim is to create a physical space for the sharing, hearing and holding of these stories and to provide resources and signposts that you may find helpful to speak your truth and heal your wounds.

Stories from the Womb holds retreats, gatherings and workshops around this theme. The Facebook page has been created to support this work.

Stories from the Womb ~ Loss

This offering holds a space for this grief: for the longing, for the loss.

This day-long retreat allows you to feel into your experience of loss, to find where you carry it, to sit with it and to share it and to offer support to others. Together we will explore ways that you can process your grief, to move through it and to shape it into a new beginning.

What you can expect

The program borrows from a wide variety of disciplines and practices designed to support you. These include a doll-making workshop, meditation, movement, a healing sound bath and sharing circles.

All the activities will be optional and although it can be useful for you to tell your story in this supportive space, it is not essential that you do so.

Stories from the Womb ~ Reflections on the Journey

Walking through life after the loss of a pregnancy or baby is a journey of epic proportions.

  • There is no road map.
  • No guide book.
  • There is no short cut.
  • The path is hard at times, very hard, so much so you may feel you cannot go on.
  • But you do, you keep going.
  • Step by step.
  • You journey through your life.
  • Forging your own path.
  • Meeting others along the way, whose path may look like yours.
  • But ultimately this is your path.

This retreat gives you the opportunity to step outside your everyday life and reflect on the journey you have been on so far.

You will see how far you have travelled, how strong you are.

We will reflect on what tools you used to navigate and we can then share these with others walking this path also.

We will use different techniques to capture our reflections; journalling, drawing, doodling or just contemplation.

Seeing where we have come from gives us a better idea of where we are going.

The day will be woven together with Qigong, meditation and sound healing.

As with all of our retreats nothing is required of you. You don’t have to speak if you choose not to. We will hold you in this space and honour you, just the same.

Details of next workshop in 2020 coming shortly. Please get in touch if you would like to be notified about upcoming workshops.

‘I was looking for some time out to honour my feelings and my babies.  Life is so busy we don’t get to do it. I was very anxious and nervous about coming today.  Now I feel much better, more relaxed & grounded. I would recommend the retreat to others because if they have gone through this, they don’t need to bottle up their feelings.  Thank-you for arranging this!!’ Caroline Dineen
