Card for the Month – August 2024 – Opal
This month’s card is Opal from ‘Crystals: The Stone Deck’ by Andrew Smart.
This is one of my favorite Crystals. In the photo, the Crystal looks like a magical cave with beautiful rainbow-colored lights within. There’s a feeling of fun and excitement and like the stone is full of possibilities.
Opal
What it is: Opals are well-hydrated amorphous mineraloids. Precious Opals are lusted after for their rainbow sparkle, a.k.a. “diffraction”. Common Opals form in a range of colors and can deliver sensations that are anything but common.
Who needs it: The all-black wardrobe set can benefit from Blacks Precious Opal’s bold pop of color (and spiritual protection). Not-so-prolific artists can ride Fire Opal’s burn.
Where to put it: General rule: White and blue vibe with the head, pink vibes with the heart, and black vibes with the lower abdomen.
When to use it: When you have something that needs to get moving – a project, a relationship, an energetic block.
Feel all your feels.
I love the way the message on this card is written. It’s very lighthearted. It encourages us to listen to the wisdom, but not to be too serious or heavy about it. So I’m listening to a book at the moment on self-compassion, and it’s really good, Full of excellent practical reasons why we should be compassionate to ourselves as well as others.
So this card invites us to use Opal as a tool to get us going again. And it’s a positive action that we can take, whereas sometimes we might stay stuck because we criticize ourselves and then we may relinquish our responsibility for situations we get ourselves in and turn to blaming others. So this just brings us back to this openness, this fluidity, this possibility, and we can just call in the energy of Opal to get things moving.
Have a lovely month!
Much love & blessings,
Claire xoxo
