Courage is a Decision
It’s amazing the insights that come when we allow a bit of space and take a break from technology. For me this means spending 10 days camping in a field in Tipperary at Earthsong. This year presented so many opportunities to stretch and grow and I learnt so much in the process.
I have been thinking a lot about fear and how it holds us back in our lives. One day walking barefoot across the field from morning kirtan to my tent for breakfast, I had a realisation about fear and courage.
Courage is so much more than just feeling the fear and moving through the discomfort of it. It’s the decision to be strong and unwavering. It’s allowing that sense of vulnerability and not trying to hide it. We can be courageous and afraid and vulnerable and strong all at the same time.
While writing this, I felt guided to record a little sounding with my singing bowl to help with that whole dynamic of feeling stuck, afraid and then getting into motion and choosing courage.
