A Poem for Brigid’s Day

A Poem for Brigid’s Day – ‘La Fheile Bride’

Happy Brigid’s Day! The first of February is Brigid’s Day. It also marks the official start of Spring in Ireland. It’s an exciting time as we shift from the sleepiness of winter and start to really emerge into this new year.

Brigid is a much loved goddess and saint in Ireland and is associated with creativity and Spring.

So happy that we now have a public holiday in Ireland today celebrating one of our national saints and a goddess of old. Here is a poem I wrote in honour of Brigid. It came to me in Irish and then I translated it into English.
