The Power of Lullabies: A Palestinian Song of Freedom

The Power of Lullabies: A Palestinian Song of Freedom

December turned out to be deeply focused on Palestine. I was honoured to be invited by Daniel to North Shore on Sherkin Island to a fundraising event to bring a Palestinian family to Ireland. It was a beautiful gathering with delicious Palestinian food, and my dear friend and fellow sound healer, Elizabeth Ewing, joined me to share songs and poetry.

We also offered a vocal response of poetry and song to the Palestinian art exhibition ‘Art Under Fire’ in Bantry, organised by the West Cork for Palestine group.

Here is a Palestinian lullaby we learnt together for the fundraisers:

As the solstice approached, it felt fitting to hold an online sound bath in support of Palestine. Elizabeth joined me again, and we streamed live from the cabin, choosing ‘Medical Aid for Palestinians’ as the charity to support. Thanks so much for your generosity and  donations are still coming in.  I will let you know the final amount donated in the next newsletter.

The recording of the sound bath is available on my website until January 10th. If you’d like to access the replay, simply make a donation, and you’ll receive the recording straight away.
