Hello there, and welcome to the card reading for July.

This month’s card is High Priest: Intend and Create from Kyle Gray’s Angels and Ancestors Oracle Cards. As I share this, we are in the energy of the new moon – the perfect time to set intentions for the month ahead.

One of my personal intentions this summer is to make more space for creativity. It’s something I enjoy deeply, yet somehow it often gets pushed aside. Can you relate? We are all creators, whether through writing, cooking, decorating, storytelling, art, or singing. Creativity stretches beyond necessity – it brings meaning to life and opens us to endless possibilities.

What strikes me about the High Priest is how seriously he takes his creative power. He doesn’t see it as frivolous – it’s sacred work. Before creating, he sets clear intentions. He plans his time and space, gathers his tools, and calls upon higher guidance – sacred geometry and esoteric wisdom amplify his creative energy.

The card also shows a balance between right and left brain: his right side has a wing, symbolising his intuitive, creative self, while his left side represents logic and structure. Both are essential. And the hawk (or peregrine falcon) beside him is his guardian, keeping him focused and offering insight from a higher perspective.

This July, why not allow yourself to explore your own creative bliss? Is there something you’ve loved but haven’t done in a while – jigsaws, colouring, trying new recipes, or something entirely different?
