Happy New Year 🌟

What a gorgeous day it has been here in West Cork.

Today I’m picking the card for the month of January, and it feels extra special as we step into a new year. I haven’t worked with this deck for a long time, so it felt like the right moment to return to it.

The card that has come up is Angel of Soul Love.

This card invites us to look at how we value ourselves. It speaks strongly about self-love and self-care, and how important these themes are at the moment. In the image we see a man and a woman — and while soul love can sometimes be interpreted as romantic love, I feel it is much bigger than that.

For me, this card is about the unification of the soul — the coming together of both the masculine and feminine energies within us. The moon in the background feels significant too. The moon often brings emotions to the surface, inviting us to feel more deeply and honestly.

This can be an invitation to enter stillness, to gently sense what is going on within us, and to meet ourselves with compassion. When we look again at the expressions in the image, there is a feeling of trust, surrender and relaxation — qualities we are often very good at offering to others, but perhaps less practiced at giving to ourselves.

The colours in the card are rich blues, which may relate to the throat chakra — our ability to speak and live our truth in the world. There are also purple tones, often associated with spirituality, intuition, and the deeper spiritual learnings we move through.

As we begin this new year, we are being invited to reconnect with ourselves and to gently ask:
How am I really doing?
How freely am I expressing myself?
How comfortable am I simply being who I am?

This might look like taking a quiet walk, journaling, or simply pausing to listen inwardly. We are still in winter — there is no need to rush.

I feel a deep sense of stillness with this card.
The invitation is to pause, and to rest in that stillness for a little while.
